Blogshares Ban- A personal letter from MNO
The following is a personal letter sent out to other players of the game on 10/6/2007. It was noted that some of the points in my message were not included in my original petition. Because I and others agreed that the petition should include these items, it was decided that I should amend the petition to include the points.
Hello Fellow Blogshares players,
I am writing you today to ask all of you to think about what happened recently with the AXA PnP ban by the game BOD/Admin. I realize that many of you do not care much for the style of play used by some of the players on the game. We all have our own styles, goals etc. for the game and we set out to achieve these goals in different forms and fashion. I have heard it said many times that the corporate wars have brought life to the game! I must admit that there have been times that these wars have gotten out of hand by all of the participating players and/or corporations. However, for the most part, we all have had fun playing the game in the shares market. I am certain that we can all also agree that many times emotions play a very large part in the game. I am also certain that we have all seen some members loose control of their emotions while playing the game and many have spouted off or done things that they probably would not have done otherwise. The point I am trying to make is we all play this game and we may not like some of the other players actions, but we are all human and we all still have communicated our feelings to one another from time to time.
The recent ban of two players, AXA and PnP brought to light another side of the game that most of us have never considered. A perm ban by the game BOD/Admin. Most of us have read what has been said in the forums in regards to this ban, but have we really had any factual evidence laid out for us to see? It concerns me and I hope that you are also concerned that this ban was done without any factual evidence being given. Moreover, it still appears that the ban was done purely for an ongoing build of certain players who disliked these two players and myself. Yes, the original pm sent out included my name along with PnP and AXA. This is another point for us all to think about. Why was this ban put into place against a group of players after being lobbied for by another group of players with clearly vested interests?
Many have wondered why I was not included in the ban when my nickname clearly was part of the group. I can not answer this. However, to this day none of us know the actual claims against these players. Were they both charged with the same thing….harassment? Just what was the harassment that they are both guilty of and are they both guilty of the same type of harassment? Did they work as a team harassing players, or was it done on an individual basis but in the same fashion? Fact remains that none of us, including the banned players know the exact nature of the charges. None of us including the banned players have been given any type of factual evidence. The ban is based on hearsay and was put into effect using section 20 of the Blogshares TOS that says that the BOD/Admin can ban a player at any time without reason. Could this happen to you? Think about it. What happened in this ban is just plain wrong and could happen to any of us if the right group of players doesnt like you.
If you think that this ban was wrong, I implore you to sign our online petition. By signing the petition, you are not agreeing that you like these two players or their play style. You are agreeing that the ban was done without justification in facts. You are agreeing that the ban was wrong to be employed without warning. You are agreeing that the players should have been separated in the banning and handled as individuals and not as a group.
Please think very hard about what happened on November the 2nd with this administrative action. If you can say beyond a shadow of a doubt that the admin of this game was right in their actions, then I am sorry to have wasted your time. If you can not say that the game admin was right by banning these players, please consider signing our petition to have the ban lifted.
If you have not already read the post of AXA that was censored from the Blogshares forum, please take a moment to stop by The Untouchables Blog and read what AXA had to say that the game admin would not allow to be posted. You can comment there as well. After reading this and reading what AXA has to say, and you still agree with the ban, then I respect your opinion and thank you for the time taken to give all this some thought.
Please pass this on to your friends, as it effects everyone that plays the game.
Thanks and best of luck to all,
Mike aka MNO
